Stepping Out with Constable Cyrus!

We have been lucky to have our Community Police Officer, Constable Cyrus, come to visit the Juniors to help us stay safe near the road. We have still to go out and about with him to look out for sneaky driveways, but here are our photos so far.

We loved being able to sit in the Police car to try out the seat belts!

Remember to clunck, click, every trip!

Can you see where it goes???

Check out our Road Safety song we learned for our assembly!

Waikowhai Big Kids come to visit us!

On Tuesday this week, we had a great time with our future big buddies from Waikowhai Intermediate, who came to visit us in Room 1.

They are going to come and do lots of fun things with us, especially writing stories, and talking all about what matters to us. We shall be sharing our taonga all next year.

Watch out for future updates!

Our Visit To Hay Park Primary - Where The Wild Things Are!

We walked down to Hay Park Primary yesterday, to see the whole school perform their production of "Where The Wild Things Are ".

It was great to see other children getting ready at their dress rehearsal, before performing to their families and friends. It made us all think what it will be like for us when we are getting ready next term for Pasifika Peter Pan!

It was a  long show and we had to sit still (or stand up to see because we were sitting behind some grown ups!), but it was lovely to see the beautiful costumes and hear their super loud singing.

We all liked the drumming best, can you tell from the pictures what they used as drums?

Super Scooter Skills

Today Johnny came from Auckland Transport to help us learn how to be safe on our scooters.
Unfortunately, lots of boys and girls were sick today, so we only had a little class.

We all wore helmets and practised lots of moves. We can now use the back brake, do an emergency stop, and know to stop, watch and walk when crossing on a zebra or pedestrian crossing.

Scooters are great fun, we love to use them at break times at school.

Remember to scoot safe!

Juniors Visit To Kelly Tarltons!

We had an awesome day on Tuesday when we all went to Sea Life at Kelly Tarltons in the city.
A super bus ride, then we arrived, all very excited!

We saw all the fantastic sea creatures that live in our oceans, and thought a lot about the things that should not be there......

Pollution is our thinking for the next few weeks on our Inquiry, how can we stop the amount of plastics littering our seas?

Have a look at our photos, and then call back soon to see our inventions for cleaning up the sea.
